Well, 2010 is just around the corner, and as you will no doubt know, it has special significance for South Africa and football fans around the world! The draw was made in Cape Town last Friday and we have listed the groupings for those of you who are interested.
We have been talking for literally years now about 2010 – but have to keep reminding ourselves that the World Cup lasts only four weeks from the opening match on June 11 to the final on July 11. This means that Cape Town has all its undoubted attractions available for the other 48 weeks of 2010!!
So as a result, we’ve put together some packages which we hope you will find attractive, and these are listed in more detail on our website www.beaumonthouse.co.za
- Beaumont Villa family package – seven nights for the price of five, romantic dinner for two and babysitting if required. Available March, April, May 2010 – see www.capetownkids.co.za for lots of ideas
- Wine Harvest package – seven nights for the price of five at Beaumont house or Beaumont villa, full day visit to a harvest event accompanied by a specialist wine guide and a gourmet picnic in the vineyard at Eagle’s Nest (awarded best Shiraz at the IWSC 2009 in London). Available February and March 2010
- Exclusive Wine Tastings - offering seven nights for the price of five at Beaumont house or Beaumont villa, and exclusive tastings given by the winemaker at two of South Africa’s top wine estates. Available February, March, April, May, September, October and November 2010
So go on – book your flights and grab the package which suits you best!

Concierge’s restaurant pick
For a fabulous lunch with an equally fabulous view, the concierge suggests Delaire. The winery has recently undergone a major upgrade with no expense spared by its owner, Mr. Laurence Graff, the well known London jeweller. Located just outside Stellenbosch on the mountain pass to Franschhoek, it is just 45 minutes from the Beaumont properties.

| Spring in Cape Town is the time for wine shows and wine auctions, so plenty of new wines are shown for the first time. One of this season’s best discoveries is an unwooded chardonnay from Jordan. This 2009 wine was allowed to sit on the lees for some time before bottling, resulting in a tasty, fruity wine with a soft mouth feel – delicious with a light lunch or sipping in the shade with a good book! Even the ABC brigade (anything but chardonnay) may well be tempted by this wine!! |
